Court orders forfeiture of Dame Patience Jonathan’s properties

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday ordered an interim forfeiture of two properties linked to the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mrs. Patience Jonathan.
The properties are at Plot No. 1960, Cadastral Zone A05, Maitama District; and Plot No. 1350, Cadastral Zone A00, both in Abuja.

The properties were said to be held in the name of Ariwabai Aruera Reachout Foundation, which Mrs. Jonathan was said to be one of its “trustees.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had, in an ex parte application filed in September last year, asked for an interim forfeiture of the properties, which it claimed were subjects of an ongoing criminal investigation.

Ruling on the commission’s ex parteapplication on Monday, Justice Nnamdi Dimgba dismissed Mrs. Jonathan’s objection to the application for lacking in merit.

The court then ordered the interim forfeiture, which he, however, ruled must only last for 45 days.

He ruled that within the 45 days, EFCC must conclude its investigations and charge the suspects being investigated in respect of the alleged crimes linked to properties.

He however added that the EFCC was at liberty to file an application for the extension of the life span of the order before the expiration of the initial 45 days.

He also ordered that if for any reason EFCC’s officials needed to access the properties within the period of interim forfeiture, they must do so with the respondents in attendance.

How to end fulani herdsmen, farmers clashes – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on leaders to work closely together to tackle the incessant violent clashes between farmers and herdsmen across the country.

Obasanjo made the call in Makurdi on Saturday when he visited the graves and laid a wreath at the graveyard of the 73 victims of herdsmen attack.

He said the continued violence and insurgency required collaboration and collective urgent attention, stressing that tackling security challenges must begin from the roots to secure a permanent solution.

According to him, until the issue is addressed from the roots more and more people will be buried as victims.
”If the issue is tackled right from the roots there will be no room for assumptions. We must collectively find solutions,” he said.

Obasanjo said that he laid the wreath to sufficiently express his sorrow, empathy and sympathy to the families that lost their loved ones, the governor and people of the state and Nigerians.

He disclosed that he had attended the Zero Hunger meeting which Gov. Samuel Ortom could not attend because of the incessant attacks on his subjects by herdsmen.

The former president said that he was shocked to hear that after the mass burial of 73 persons, 83 more persons were killed.

He regretted that the investment and development cannot take place in a chaotic atmosphere because investors would be unwilling to invest in such places.

Obasanjo called for an end to the incessant attacks on farmers by the herdsmen while appealing the governor not to give up because “there would surely be light at the end of the tunnel,” he said.

Jepkizzy - bad idea lyrics

Intro :
Na Na Na Na Na Na (espiano baby)
Verse 1:
Met a boy who was fine  as hell
Skin looking smooth like he ain't from earth
Looking so fresh like a new born babe
Man i wish i could be by his side all day
Yeah he bad and i know he can't be mine
But he looks so fine make me wanna go fly
Boy you got me obsessed looking at you all day
But we're so different just like heaven and earth
Yeah he suffocates me and i fucking hate him
But i really love him even though it kills me
Though it hurts to look at him everyday
Acting like i don't give a damn till he walks away
Oh my God baby boy you got me speechless
You so fine you should really be a princess
Am in love and am down for you baby
Am falling in love and am falling for you baby
Say hi boy you got me high you're supernatural
Got my heart beating so fast like am on the tracks
Am like one step two steps
Am tripping for you boy and i better watch my steps
Chorus :
Baby you got my heart i need to let it go
The love was a bad idea i need to let it go
You got my heart and my soul i need to let it go
A mistake a bad idea i need to let it go
Oh baby you got my heart i need to let it go
Loving you was a bad idea i need to let it go
You got my heart and my soul i need to let it go
The love was a bad idea i need to let it go
Verse 2 :
He's a bad idea he's so versatile
Hands up pens down yeah he got the style
He's a rude boy looking like a good boy
Gat fine face deep voice and my heart so warm
So tall and i really can't take that
Very good charms yeah he got it and i said that
You just my type and i really can't take that
So am singing this song to make me feel better
You got my heart on lock ah baby boy you got me falling in love
You just my type but you're so bad
Ah boy me no feel lie you're a bad idea oh
No edges no flaws wish i could have you in my crew just once
I couldn't think twice boy you got me thinking once
Oh yes am in love ama say it just once
CHORUS
Verse 3 :
Loving you keeps hurting me i don't wanna think about all you've done
Why can't you just let me be girl i don't wanna see you baby just take your leave
Everyday i think of you take you out spend my whole time with you
But you chose to break my heart i don't wanna see you can you just take your leave
CHORUS

JUST IN : Former Super Eagles coach Amodu Shuaibu is dead

Former Super Eagles coach and NFF Technical Director, Amodu Shuaibu has died in his sleep just three days after the death of Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi. A statement released by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) this morning reads:

"NFF Technical Director, Amodu Shuaibu has died at the age of 58. The four - time Coach of the Super Eagles complained of chest pains on Friday night and died in his sleep. RIP Amodu Shuaibu's death comes three days after that of former Super Eagles Captain and Coach, Stephen Keshi."
His body has been moved to the mortuary at the Stella Obasanjo hospital in Benin.
Until his death, the Edo-born coach was the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation. A statement today from the official NFF Twitter account confirmed his death. According to the statement, Shuaibu had complained of chest pain and died in his sleep.
He drove his car to drop a friend, went to sleep and was discovered dead about 4am.

It was gathered that Shuaibu had signed the condolence register of Stephen Keshi on Thursday, June 9, before his death. The late Amodu has always contributed his quota to the development of football in Nigeria.
He managed a number of club sides in Nigeria, such as BCC Lions, El-Kanemi Warriors, and Shooting Stars; he also managed Orlando Pirates in South Africa.
He first managed the Nigerian national team from April 2001 to February 2002 but later stated that his dismissal was “unfair”, and also said that, a month later, he had yet to receive a formal letter confirming his dismissal. He was re-appointed manager in April 2008. In December 2009.
The Nigeria Football Federation stated that Amodu was under pressure, and in January 2010 there was speculation about his future. He was sacked in February 2010. Amodu was appointed technical director of Nigeria’s national teams in May 2013.
He was re-appointed Nigeria manager in October 2014, replacing Stephen Keshi. It was his fifth spell in charge of the country. Keshi returned to the role two weeks later but was fired in July 2015 and Amodu took over the Eagles again temporarily.
He was replaced by Sunday Oliseh on a permanent basis later that month.
His death has left many Nigerians in tremor and tears as they have taken to social media to send tributes to the late coach and his family.
May his soul rest in Peace...Amen!

JUST IN : Governor Fayoshe says he has gone on indefinite strike

Governor Ayodele Fayose has embarked on an indefinite strike
According to the governor, the solidarity strike is expedient to show concerns with the workers, who have not received salaries in the last five months
Fayose added that he will be expecting the workers back to their offices when they are ready to return to work
Daily Post reports that the governor announced his decision at the weekend in a televised broadcast shown on media based in Ado Ekiti.
According to Fayose, the solidarity strike is expedient to show concerns with the workers, who have not received salaries in the last five months.
Last week, the workers, under the auspices of Nigerian Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and Joint Negotiation Council, embarked on an indefinite strike, when it became obvious that the governor would not respond positively to their pleas.
The labour leaders were particularly angered by the statement credited to Fayose, in which he said that he would sell his family to pay workers.
They described the governor’s statement as ‘not only insensitive but inflammatory”.
However, in the recent broadcast Fayose declared solidarity with the workers to confirm that he shared their pains and sufferings.
Fayose “I want to tell workers that I have placed myself on indefinite strike in solidarity with you. I shared your pains, but it was rather unfortunate that a man can’t give what he doesn’t have.
“I have told you the true position of the finances of the state, of which you had played critical roles in allocation of federal allocations to relevant sectors which shows how well I had carried you along since the dwindling revenue to the state commenced.
“During my first term, I mean, 2003 to 2006, I used to pay salary of workers by 21st of every month. But the present situation is very unfortunate and we have to learn how to live with it until the country wriggle out of it and things will change for better,” he said.
The governor added that he will be expecting the workers back to their offices when they are ready to return to work.
“I shall be expecting you, because presently I am handicapped and there is nothing I can do.
“But before then, I have placed myself on indefinite strike in solidarity with your course.
But I appeal that you put the interest of the state above everything, because the present position affects everybody,” he said.
Earlier this week, Fayose appealed to Ekiti workers who are on strike to call of their actions. He noted that the difficult economic situation was not peculiar to Ekiti alone as the state depends much on statutory allocations.
